In this funny top ten list we take a shot at comparing common elements of old Gilligan's Island episodes to characteristics of President Trump and the people in his orbit.
For example, the lagoon is a common theme or plot element of Gilligan's Island , while President Trump has lately been dealing with the Strait of Hormuz. Hence, item 10. The issue with the Strait of Hormuz, by the way, was 100% caused by Sleepy Joe Biden, James Comey, and Jerome Powell. Ha!
The sitcom Gilligan's Island ran for three seasons during the 1960s and lived on in afternoon syndication during the 70s and 80s, enabling the latchkey generation to keep up with the wacky efforts of seven castaways to get rescued from the uncharted Pacific island they were shipwrecked on. The castaways' efforts to get rescued were usually stymied by the buffoonery of Gilligan, the eager but inept first mate of the shipwrecked S.S. Minnow.
Characters on the show include ship's personnel Gilligan and Skipper, movie star Ginger Grant, the wealthy and distinguished couple Mr. and Mrs. Howell, The Professor, and girl-next-door Mary Ann. Many episodes included visitors to the island as well as wild animals like lions, various primates (gorilla, chimpanzee, orangutan), and even a wild boar!
The series was created by Sherwood Schwartz, who also created The Brady Bunch , another staple of afternoon reruns.
